Snowbirds to fly over Canada's Most Patriotic Town on August 31!

At 1:45 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2017, the Town of Halton Hills was treated to a 'fly past' by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.
IT was an amazing moment in the history of Halton Hills. About 3350 people met up at 6 Gathering Locations and lined the streets along the route! HUGE 20x40 Canada Flags were held up by people who came out in celebration of this amazing honour. We wore RED & WHITE - and brought Canada Flags as they flew from Acton Prospect Park to MMSP Georgetown.

1. Prospect Park @ Center of the field with Kathleen Dills
2. Downtown Acton @ United Church Cenotaph Parking Lot with Sheena Switzer Acton BIA
3. Limehouse School Parking Lot with Councillor Ted Brown
4. Downtown Georgetown @ Parking lot beside Yongs by Iron Tree with Wendy Farrow-Reed Downtown Georgetown BIA
5. Dominion Gardens Park @ Flag Pole/Splash Pad with Ann Lawlor, Cheryl Cardon & Sarah Simpson
6. MOLDMASTERS Sports-Plex @ Flag Pole at front with Amy Sykes

This unique opportunity results from the initiative taken by local business Yorkshire Enterprises and a representative from the Canada 150 Federal Secretariat. The fly past recognizes the successful 'most patriotic town in Canada' challenge led by the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee sub-committee for The Most Patriotic Town Challenge, co-chaired by Cheryl Cardon, Circus Strategic Communications Inc. and Councillor Ann Lawlor. Local sponsors contributed to the effort and residents proudly purchased and displayed 57,074 Canadian flags on July 1, 2017.

"The fly past by the Canadian Snowbirds is just another way that our Town has been taken to new heights," quipped Mayor Bonnette. "I'm delighted that this recognition by such an esteemed and valued symbol of Canada will be sharing their talents with our community."

The fly past will began at Prospect Park in Acton, and conclude at Dominion Gardens in Georgetown.
