Agricultural Tourism

Halton Hills is one of the largest agricultural areas in the Greater Toronto Area and is strategically located to allow our farm operations to serve over 5 million consumers. We are home to many farms and orchards that offer fresh produce for you to enjoy!

If you are looking to get your hands dirty you are in luck! You will be able to pick delicious strawberries and enjoy fruit wine tasting at Andrews’ Scenic Acres/Scotch Block Winery and gather every type of apple you can imagine at Chudleigh’s!

If you want to keep your hands clean and would rather purchase locally grown and produced items, there are plenty of farms that offer on-farm market services. For starters, you can pick up maple syrup at Danbrie Farms and a variety of produce at DiGirolamo Farm.

Don’t miss our Farmers’ Markets that run from June to the fall – Thursday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Acton and Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM in Downtown Georgetown. The Farmers’ Markets are local gathering places where you’ll get service with a smile and enjoy the sights and sounds of a true small town experience.

Agriculture is not just about food. Halton Hills has a thriving horticultural sector including one of our largest employers, Sheridan Nurseries. If you are thinking of landscaping look no farther than our many nurseries and greenhouses.

And if you have been driving around you will know that we have many equine operations that offer horseback riding, horse shows and racing.
