Join the Halton Hills Discovery Pass!

We are bringing back the Discovery Pass - a FREE, mobile-exclusive digital pass designed to help visitors explore and support local tourism businesses in Halton Hills - better yet, no app download is required! Based on the success and feedback from last year’s program, the Discovery Pass is evolving in 2026 to support a simpler, year‑long approach that delivers value for both businesses and visitors.

Highlights from last year’s program:

  • 2,800 Discovery Pass downloads,
  • 78% of users visited a business they had not been to before
  • 54% of users came from outside Halton Hills, including Toronto, Milton, Mississauga, and Brampton
  • 600 discounts redeemed, with users averaging four business visits per participant
  • Estimated $170,000 in local economic impact, with average business spend per visit between $20–$40

**New** Year-long Campaign Categories (July 2026 - July 2027)

  1. Visiting Friends & Family - Perfect for guests staying with loved ones who are looking for things to do, places to eat, and local shopping while they’re in town.
  2. Sports Tournaments - Ideal for teams, families, and spectators visiting Halton Hills for tournaments and sporting events, with nearby dining, shopping, and experiences to explore between games.
  3. Visiting for Events - Designed for visitors coming to Halton Hills for local festivals, concerts, performances, and community events who want to make the most of their visit.

General Eligibility Criteria: 

✔ Be located in Halton Hills, ON (Georgetown, Acton, Glen Williams, Norval, or surrounding rural areas). 

✔ Cater to tourists, visitors, and day-trippers (offer experiences, shopping, dining, or attractions that appeal beyond the local customer base). 

✔ Have a physical storefront that is open to the public. Preference provided to walk-in businesses. (home-based businesses are not eligible). 

✔ Be open at least two days per week during the campaign period, including one day on the weekend (Saturday or Sunday). 

✔ Offer an exclusive customer incentive valid for the duration of the program (this can be updated at any time).

  • Farm‑to‑table and seasonal food & drink experiences

Outdoor Recreation & Attractions

  • Conservation areas, trails & hiking destinations
  • Outdoor adventure businesses (cycling, kayaking, canoeing, etc.)
  • Golf courses & driving ranges

Farms, Markets & Nurseries

  • Farmers’ markets
  • Pick‑your‑own farms & farm markets
  • Family farm attractions
  • Plant & flower nurseries

Arts & Culture

  • Artisans, art studios & galleries

Events & Experiences

  • Local festivals & seasonal events
  • Event‑based visitor experiences

Deadline to Apply: 

Complete the intake form by May 16, 2026. We aim to have a variety of experiences and businesses represented through this program and will select businesses based on the goals of the program.

 How do visitors check in at my business?
Visitors use their mobile pass to check in using GPS proximity to business. 
How will the program be promoted?

What happens if my business is selected?
  • You will receive a confirmation email with the next steps from tourism@haltonhills.ca our team and will then connect you with our reps at bandwango to give you further details on how to join the pass.
  • Ongoing support to ensure a smooth experience.
