Small-town, festive charm is just a short drive away this holiday season. Halton Hills, located just 40 minutes outside of Toronto, is a one stop shop to celebrate with loved ones. From delicious dining, picturesque landscapes, and high-end shopping, it’s a destination that you don’t want to miss. Follow this one-day tour to make memories you won’t soon forget!

Morning cup of coffee

Start off your day with a fresh cup of coffee at Black Creek Coffee House! Recently opened at the Georgetown Marketplace, Black Creek roasts its own beans locally in Acton, making a bag the perfect gift for any of your espresso drinking loved ones!

Specialty Shopping at Holiday Markets

Throughout the month of December, Halton Hills will be featuring a number of specialty holiday markets that are the perfect balance of shopping, dining, and exploring. On Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th, walk the main street of Glen Williams as it transforms into a winter wonderland. Nestled along the banks of the credit river, explore over 30 artisans and craftspeoples’ creations. If you stop by on Sunday, sip on a hot drink while you browse through local artisans and vendors at the Williams Mill Creative Arts Studios!

In Georgetown, find the Holiday Markets on Saturday December 3rd and Saturday December 10th from 11:00am to 3:00pm! Head down to to Main Street for handmade crafts and local foods. Hosted by the Georgetown BIA, this market alongside local downtown shops have all you need to get your holiday season needs!

In Acton, the Downtown market is hosted on Acton Town Hall Centre 19 Willow Street North (11am - 4pm) and the Acton Roxy Centre, 6 Mill Street East (9:30am - 3:30pm). Grab a hot drink after the Santa Claus Parade and browse through two holiday markets with local artisans and vendors.

Lunch in the Glen

Delicious local food is not difficult to find in Halton Hills. Try out The Copper Kettle Pub for a delicious menu and wonderful ambiance. Located in a beautiful brick building built in 1852, it’s no wonder the Copper Kettle has been proudly serving customers for over 20 years. This local favourite is sure to impress your entire family.

Warm up with some cocoa

To complete the perfect holiday adventure, stop into Whimsy Street Treats’ to grab a hot beverage. Whimsy’s specializes in luxury hot cocoas.

Picturesque stops

If you are visiting Georgetown after December 1st, take your hot cocoa and family and friends for a stroll through the “Light Up the Hills” annual winter lightning festival. From December 1 to January 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day. If you are travelling around Halton Hills, there are two other parks: Shelagh Law Parkette in Glen Williams and Acton Sports Park in Acton, with light displays. Experience Light Up the Hills free of charge and without the hassle of making reservations; just show up and enjoy!

If you are looking for an extra beautiful snowy Christmas photo, take a short drive to the Union Presbyterian Church. “Let it Snow”, a Christmas themed romantic-comedy on Netflix filmed scenic Christmas shots at this very church.

On Sunday December 4th, finish the day at Williams Mill Creative Arts Studios with a hot soup or sweet funnel cake beside their outdoor crackling bonfire.
