Trails in town
Halton Hills has 11 trails around town to explore ranging from a hike through the woods to a leisurely stroll through Acton. If you bring your furry friend, remember to bring a leash and bags.
Whether you are on foot or bike, trails provide opportunities to discover Halton Hills' natural areas, parks and gardens. Bring your binoculars and take some photos of the eye catching wildlife you find on the trails.
Our conservation areas are situated within Credit Valley, visit the Credit Valley Conservation Website for hours of operation and entrance fees. The trails and lush forest in these conservation areas are our best hidden gems and truly represent the serene nature of Halton Hills.
There are over 1000 acres of wilderness to discover at Silvercreek. The park features a branch of the Credit River, and a large Niagara Escarpment valley. Babbling brooks, marsh land, forest and escarpment rocks give you the perfect mix of mother-nature.
Vehicle access from 9th Line and Fallbrook Trail (27th Sideroad)
Explore along the Bruce Trail while enjoying the natural wonders of the Niagara Escarpment. Discover the geological heart of the area known as “Hole in the Wall” where ladders lead to cracks and gap within the escarpment rocks. Find huge lime kilns and an old powderhouse, resources from the 1800s representing an important part of Ontario's heritage.

Terra Cotta Conservation Area offers cross-country ski rentals, snow shoe rentals and ice skating on the pond in the winter time. The Bruce Trail is the oldest and longest marked footpath in Canada and there is 30 km of it to discover in Halton Hills. The Toronto Bruce Trail Club is one of the nine regional organizations which make up the Bruce Trail Conservancy. Each Club is volunteer-run and is responsible for maintaining, stewarding our section of the Bruce Trail. 1500 guided hikes are offered year round as part of a membership with the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
Credit Valley Trail focuses on connecting people to nature, cultural experiences, Indigenous heritage and the sustaining waters of the Credit River.
The Trailhead access point for for the Halton Hills Credit Valley Trail is Glen Williams Park. This 7.2km footpath should take 2.5 hours to complete.
There is no formal parking. Please follow local parking by laws.
